5.1.5 Underwater procedure (1) If the diver reaches the sea bottom, he/she must adjust the self-buoyancy and check whether the air supply is normal before leaving the stage or the rope for diving down. (2) If necessary, the diver adjusts the amount of the air in the helmet to the extent for it to be lifted from the shoulder at the situation where he/she does not lose buoyancy. (3) The diver checks whether the helmet and the mast is ventilated well by checking his/her physical condition. (4) When the diver takes a rest, he/she is to breathe normally to feel comfortable. If the diver needs to breathe quickly, hard or shortly, or induces perspiration abnormally, smoke is coming out, he/she feels dizzy, his/her eyes is falling, or the helmet window is steamed up, the diver judges these phenomena the evidence that carbon dioxide is accumulated in the helmet. So, the diver must not only increase the amount of circulated air by opening the air conditioning valve but also open the exhauster valve. (5) The diver pulls the lifeline and the air hose toward the bottom life in the ocean, the tidal current and the sun. (6) When the tidal current of the sea bottom is not identical to that of the surface of the sea during diving, the diver is to know that at the time the direction of the tidal current and the sun might be changed. (7) The assistant is to guide the diver by pulling the rope or sending exploration signals when an abnormal circumstance has arisen. |
