관악산 호랑이 연구소(Gwanak Mountain Tiger Research Station)의 어제와 오늘
 
관악산 호랑이 연구소는 관악산 및 관악산 호랑이 생태연구에 효율성을 기하고, 야생동물 보호와 유전자원 확보에 관한 연구를 통해 관악산 호랑이 서식환경을 보존할 목적으로 2008년 8월에 설립되었습니다.
본 연구소는 지속적인 관악산 탐사를 통해 생태환경을 조사 연구하고, 관악산 호랑이의 목격담을 수집하고 있는 가운데, 지난 2009년 호랑이의 삶, 인간의 삶이라는 주제로 국립민속박물관에서 개최된 국제 학술대회 참가하여 공식적인 활동을 시작하였고, 보다 전문적인 연구 활동을 위해 서울대학교 수의과대학의 이항 교수, 야생동물보호협회 중국지부 시베리아 호랑이 보호 프로젝트 임정은 연구원, 사단법인 한국호랑이 보호협회 임순남 소장 이상 3명의 자문위원을 위촉하여 권위를 확보하였습니다. 또한 임순남 소장과 함께 2010년 3월 1일 삼일절에 일본대사관 앞에서 호랑이 멸종위기 주범 항의시위에 동참하였습니다.

Yesterday and Today of Gwanak Mountain Tiger Research Station
 
Gwanak Mountain Tiger Research Station was established to accomplish the following the purposes August in 2008. One is to increase efficiency of ecological studies of Gwanak Mountain and Gwanak Mountain tigers. The other is to preserve the inhabiting environment of these tigers through studies on the sanctuary for, and secure of gene resources of, wild animals.
The conducted an investigation of the ecological environment of Gwanak Mountain through the continuous exploration of it and collected eyewitness accounts of Gwanak Mountain tigers. The station started its official activity by attending an international conference held by the National Folklore Museum under the title of Tiger's Life and Human's Life in 2009. To conduct more specialized research activities, the station appointed the following three people as a member of its advisory committee to obtain its authority: Professor Hang Lee of College of Veterinary Medicine of Seoul National University, Researcher Jeong-Eun Lim of the Penthera tigris altaica (Amur tiger) conservation project of Chinese Branch of Wildlife Protection Society, and Director Soon-Nam Lim of Korean Tiger Protection Society Corporation. Together with Director Lim, the station joined a demonstration on the main culprit that endangered Korean tigers in front of Embassy of Japan in Japan in the anniversary of the Samiljeol, March 1, 2010.
