4.4.3.4 Means of communication during diving (1) The means of communication available when diving is the use of hand signals, as shown in Fig. 2 and 3. (2) The means of communication between the diver and the surface of the water is the use of rope, as follows. (A) When diving in the water where the visibility is bad, the diver is to employ the signaling methods of using a pair of ropes. (B) When employing the signaling methods of hand signals or ropes, you are to convey the signal forcibly. You are to act clearly lest the signal not be confused due to an ambiguous interpretation of the sending signals. (C) You must keep in mind that all signals is to be recognized by the sender and the receiver. 4.4.3.5 Pair breathing (1) When diver consumes all of the air or the scuba loses its function, he/she can share the air of scuba of other diver. What is the present depth of water or the depth of the depth of the surrounding water? (2) Because the pair breathing causes a risk, the two divers conduct it after mastering it. (3) The procedure of it is as follows. Refer to Fig. 4. (B) The diver prevents the two divers from being separated not by taking the other diver’s mouthpiece but by putting his/her one hand on the other diver’s hand holding the mouthpiece and at the same time seizing the other diver’s arm or belt by his/her arm. (C) If the other diver gives the mouthpiece to the diver after exhaling deeply while holding it, the diver holds the mouthpiece to his/her mouth by his/her hand which is put on the other diver’s hand. The two divers must not back away from the mouthpiece. (D) If the water flows into the mouthpiece when one of the two divers gives the mouthpiece to the other party, the other party drains the water collected in the mouthpiece by using the purge button or blowing his/her breath against the mouthpiece before breathing in. (E) Just in case all of the water collected in the mouthpiece is not discharged, the diver gives the mouthpiece to the other diver after breathing deeply twice, and then the other driver breathe twice. This is repeated during their pair breathing. (F) The one who breathed is more buoyant than the other; hence, the former pays special attention lest the latter be separated from the former. When using a double hose regulator, the relevant diver prevents water from flowing into the mouthpiece by locating the mouthpiece at the place higher than the breathing regulator. (G) The cycle of pair breathing makes flexible rhythm and keeps the two divers’ breathing on an even keel. After exchanging signals properly, the two divers can start foaling to the surface of the water. (H) The two divers are to breathe out slowly to prevent an effect of decrease in the pressure on the lung while floating to the surface of the water. |
