1. From the assistant

to the diver

Full once.

Is there anything wrong?

If you are diving down, halt.

Full twice.

Dive down.

Because you are further to the surface than needs if you are rising to the surface, dive down till an instruction is given.

Full three times.

Prepare for rising to the surface.

Full four times.

Prepare for rising to the surface.

Full twice and then once.

Respond to the phone (or signal).

2. From the diver

to the assistant

Full once

Halt.

If you are doing an operation of diving down,

let me go to the bottom of the sea.

Full twice.

Let me dive down.

Full three times.

Full the loose rope. (Preparation for rising to the surface)

Full four times.

Let me rise to the surface.

Full twice and then once.

Respond to the phone (or signal).

3. Particular signals

Full once, and then twice, and finally three times.

Send me a short rope.

Full five times.

Send me a long rope.

Full twice, and then once, and finally twice.

Send me a slate.

4. Emergency signals

Full twice in succession.

I am entangled.

I need the other diver’s help.

Full three times in succession.

I am entangled in something, but I can untie it.

Full four times in succession.

Let me come to the surface instantly.

5. Air signals

Full three times and then twice.

Supply more air to me.

Full four times and then three times.

Reduce the supply of air.

Nonuse of an exploration rope

Full once.

Halt and then look all around.

Full twice.

If a rope is loose, move far away from the assistant.

If a rope is pulled, move toward the assistant.

Full three times.

Move to the right side of the assistant.

Full four times.

Move to the left side of the assistant.

Full seven times.

The exploration begins. The exploration is completed.

Move away from the weight.

Move to the right side of the weight.
