The purposes of this research are twofold. The one is to explore Korean traditional cultures gradually disappearing, according to the floral research which adopts as a motif Korean symbol of floral design. The other is to examine the cultures by connecting them to floral design.
The motif of the floral design is Salpuri Dancing, Korea's representative traditional dancing. This design gives variety to the following characteristics of lines portrayed by Salpuri Dancing dealing with the inner feeling of people beyond the simple concept of 恨 (han, deep resentment), by using repetitive lines: direction, size, location and speed. So, it seeks design principle by reflecting the artist's concept in the work through the harmony, change, balance, proportion, emphasis and repetition of lines.
In conclusion, this research analyzed the above principle by connecting it to molding works and discussed not only beauty inherent in Korean traditional cultures but also the correct perception and understanding of Korean people's aesthetic consciousness. |
