This research reached at the following three conclusions. First, the making-questions-for-mathematics study to which error analysis is applied does not show any significant difference. This means that the making-questions-for-mathematics exercises no positive effect on the whole of group. Second, academic achievement of mathematics varies from three study levels: high-ranking, middle-ranking and low-ranking. A high-ranking group already came up to the high level of learning mathematics. A low-ranking group’s making-questions-for-mathematics study shows no significant difference in that it has difficulty in learning mathematics. In academic achievement of mathematics, a middle-ranking group’s making-questions-for-mathematics study shows more significant difference, compared to a traditional lecture-style class. Finally, there is no significant difference between comparative groups: Group A given a traditional lecture-style class and Group B given a making-questions class to which error analysis is applied. However, in mathematical intention, i.e., area of mathematical value, these two groups show differences. It exerts a positive influence on students’ attitude of learning mathematics to have them to make and solve similar types of questions to which their errors are applied for themselves. This is because the making-questions study enables student to be interested in mathematics and find various aspects of mathematics rather than academic ones. This research will leave for the future study a concrete methodology of the making-questions study suitable to students’ personal attitude which prevents students from repeating the same error and in particular suitable to students’ more positive attitude of mathematics. Further, this research will consider how effectively this methodology is applied to various school grades and units. |
