Studies on methods for obtaining both alternative energy and environment effects that utilize waste materials are being conducted actively all over the world. So, active treatments (e.g. producing energy from waster materials, etc.) are required to be devised. It is difficult to use waster materials as fuels in that their formation, shape, heat generation and amount change severely, and solidified waste material fuel products (e.g. RDF, RPF, WCF, and TDF) are developed to settle down these problems. These products have a great significance of waste material recycling and can be used as alternative fuels due to their easy transportation and storage and owing to their high heat generation. The method of incinerating wasting materials does not give rise to the problem of secondary pollutants produced during other general ones and has advantages such as maximized volume reduction of emitted materials by emitting as slag incineration materials including heavy metal. However, the solidified fuel products must meet the quality standards devised by "the law regarding the promotion of resource saving and recycling". Waste materials are increasing, but a third of them are used as energy sources. It is an important task to raise the recycling efficiency. These solidified fuels are easily transported and have high heat generation. They are produced around 2 million tons every year and mainly used in large-scale facilities (e.g. cement companies, paper-manufacturing companies, combined heat and power plants, etc.). It is also an important task to enable small-scale facilities (e.g. small greenhouses, flower gardens, collective heating equipments, etc.) to promote their applicability. This research aims to pyrolyze and burn the chosen samples which are being produced in domestic companies and to compare the change of both the amount of pollutants of combustion gases and the concentration by temperature. Further, it aims to examine whether or not solidified fuels can be widely used in the small-scale facilities without large prevention facilities. |
