e.g. When I was waiting for the bus, a girl came up and started asking questions. 내가 버스를 기다리고 있는데, 어떤 아가씨가 다가와 뭘 물어보기 시작했다.
* come up with 고안[생각]해 내다 (propose, produce, find, suggest)
e.g. Jane came up with a good suggestion. 제인이 멋진 제안을 내놓았다.
* lend a hand 도와주다 (help)
give a hand도 같은 뜻.
e.g. Dick saw a woman with a flat tire and offered to lend her a hand with it. 딕은 펑크난 타이어 때문에 애먹는 여자를 보고 그 일을 도와주겠다고 했다.
* holler [구어] (고함을 질러) 부르다 (shout or yell)
* get stuck 꼼짝 못하게 하다
stuck은 stick "(보통 수동태로) 빠져들게 하다, 꼼짝 못 하게 하다"의 과거분사형.
e.g. My zipper got stuck half way up. 지퍼가 고장이나 도중에 움직이지 않았다.
e.g. The bus was stuck in the mud. 버스가 진창에 빠져 꼼짝 못하게 되었다.
* come to (~에게) 도움을 청하다
come to someone's aid [help, assistance]가 줄어든 것.
e.g. All the villagers came to us in searching for the missing child. 행방불명된 아이 찾는 일을 도와달라고 마을사람들이 우리에게 요청했다.
