영어 원문 Archaeologists have excavated ancient pyramids in Egypt and more recent ones in Central and South America. Similiarities have been noted in the design and construction of theses structures found thousands of miles apart. Some researchers have wondered if contact could have existed between these pyramid builders. Thor Heyerdahl, the Norwegian explorer, put together a ship based on ancient Egyptian drawings and set sail for Barbados to lend support to the theory of cultural contact. Heyerdahl ran into various problems in his first attempt to reach Barbados and had to abandon his efforts. On a second try he did reach Barbados, as the ancient Egyptians might have done.
