‘신의 물방울’로 불리는 와인(wine)을 생산하는 곳이 와이너리(winery) 즉, 포도주 양조장이다. 와이너리는 국내에서는 생소하지만 세계 유명 건축가들이 선호하는 시설 중 하나이다.

주변 환경을 보듬고 자연의 섭리에 따라 숙성되는 와인처럼 와이너리 역시 완벽히 자연과 어우러져야 하며 와인의 매력을 디자인적으로 승화시켜야 하기 때문이다.

와이너리는 와인을 생산하는 양조장과 와인 맛을 테스트할 수 있는 테이스팅 룸, 저장고 등으로 구성된다. 각 공간은 개별적이면서 연속적으로 이어지는 형식으로 구성된다. 또한 각각의 공간은 유기적 시스템으로 연결되어 와인이 잘 숙성될 수 있도록 최첨단 시설이 설치되어 있다.

It is a winery that is the place where wine called 'God's Water Drop' is produced. A winery is not known in Korea, but it is one of the facilities most preferred by world-famous architects. This is because a winery should be completely harmonized with the nature as wine embraces the surrounding environment and age according to the provision of nature and because the charm of wine should be sublimated by design.

A winery consists of three spaces: a brewery to produce wine, a tasting room to sample wine and a storeroom. Each of these spaces constitutes a winery individually and sequentially. The state-of-the-art equipments are installed so that the spaces can be connected to one another by the organic system in order for wine to age properly.

The appearance of facilities harmonizing to the maximum with the surrounding environment make a simplicity and contemporary feel. Five wineries which are introduced in the special feature do not only make a visual contrast with vast vineyards but also display the nude in nature to the maximum by reflecting a given condition of the earth. Different finishing materials were used for wineries according to regional characteristic, but as a background in the nature those wineries are assimilated into their surroundings.
