The purposes of this research are twofold. One is to make a comparative analysis of Fröbel's and Montessori's theories of early child spiritual. The other is to draw educational meaning of the two theories not only to enable early children to exercise their own internal and intrinsic faculties but also to lay the foundation for early child spiritual education in the field of early child education theory and early child education institutions. To accomplish the purposes, this research analyzed related literature and domestic academic journals and theses. The similarities and differences of Fröbel's and Montessori's theories of spiritual education are as follows. The similarities of Fröbel's and Montessori's theories of spiritual education is the view to early children. That is, these two theories share a common view to early children by taking love and respect for early children's nature as the starting point for their theories. Based on this, Fröbel and Montessori stressed spontaneity due to early children's desires for self-activity through which they express their inner side to the outside for themselves. Also, Fröbel and Montessori defined the purpose of early child education as the practice of God's nature embedded in spiritual being, children's inner side, that is the realization of human nature (i.e. divinity). Further, Fröbel and Montessori emphasized all early children's autonomy and stressed both the indirect principle based on the guidance and protection of them and the draw of voluntary power from them. To do this, Fröbel and Montessori recognized the importance of teaching instruments and stressed early children's direct activities through each of Spielgaben and teaching instruments.
