Second, there are gender differences of elementary school students in sympathy and systematization. Male students showed a higher systematization than female students whereas female students had not only a higher sympathy but also a higher sub-components of sympathy compared to male students. This supported Baron-Cohen's (2003) theory that women are excellent in sympathy but men are outstanding in systematization. There are gender differences of educational achievement in some of the subjects. For Korean, English and Society, female students showed a higher educational achievement than male students. However, there were no significant gender differences of educational achievement in mathematics and science. So, the analysis of fifth-grade students of elementary schools supported some part of Baron-Cohen's (2003) theory (i.e. that women are excellent in sympathy) but it does not back up the other part (i.e. that men are outstanding in systematization). This is because male students who are outstanding in systematization seem to more advantageous than female students in mathematics and science but, in elementary schools, sympathy has a higher correlation with the results of mathematics and science compared to systematization. Finally, there was a static correlation between elementary school students' sympathy and systematization. This was identical to Sang-Mi Park (2010) and Young-Sook Heo (2010) who argued that the two variables have a static correlation, and it partially supported Lawson, Baron, and Wheelright's (2004) argument that the relationship of the two variables is theoretically independent or the two variables have a strong or weak static or inadequate correlation.
