A Research of the Actual State of Adaptive Seating Device Using of Parents of Children with Cerebral Palsy and their Satisfaction This research aims to explore not only the actual state of adaptive seating device using of children with cerebral palsy but also the satisfaction of their parents according to kind of adaptive seating device. In order to achieve the purposes, this research develops questionnaires based on Quebec User Evaluation of Satisfaction with Assistive Technology (QUEST 2.0) and conducts surveys of parents of children with cerebral palsy who reside in Busan, Ulsan and Gyeongsang-namdo. This research adopts as a method of data analysis the window program SPSS 15.0. It selects frequency analysis and ANOVA as methodologies of the actual state and the satisfaction, respectively, The results of this research are as follows. First, children with cerebral palsy use the following adaptive seating devices in the order of frequency in use: (1) wheelchair, (2) chair for position adjustment, (3) prone stand, (4) feeder seat. Second, the satisfaction of adaptive seating devices and service by disability types of children with cerebral palsy does not show any significant difference (p>0.05). However, the satisfaction of adaptive seating devices and service by kind of adaptive seating device shows a significant difference (p<0.5). Third, the item of comfort in the area of device shows a difference according to disability types of children with cerebral and kind of adaptive seating devices. This tells us that the comfort (i.e. the basic purpose of adaptive seating device using) encounters many problems. Finally, the area of service shows dissatisfaction, in general. So, it is required to introduce a certification system of service for reconsidering the quality of service or to objectively prove its efficiency and necessity. |
